Tzalam ~ Lysiloma spp. (L. bahamense L. latisiliquum)
Common Names: Caribbean Walnut
Tzalam has heartwood that is light to medium brown, sometimes with a reddish or purplish hue. Darker brown streaks are commonly seen in this type of wood. The sapwood is pale grayish white. Tzalam is very durable and resistant to most insects.
Typical Uses: Flooring, exterior furntiure, interior trim, veneer, turned objects, and wood specialty items.
