Royal Ebony Diospyrus Crassiflora
Royal Ebony is a new species here at West Penn. This Ebony is very similar to Gabon Ebony in woodworking qualities but is more similar to Macassar Ebony in appearance. It is a very dense, very hard wood that consists of dark blackish and lighter cream colored striped appearance.
Typical Uses: Tool, cutlery and knife handles, door knobs, butt ends of billiard cues, piano and organ keys, violin and guitar finger boards, other musical instrument pieces, turning, fancy articles and inlay.
