Chacate Preto Guibourtia conjugata
Origin: Africa and South Africa
Considered a precious wood in Africa, the heartwood is dark brown near black with lighter honey brown longitudinal streaks, can also be slightly greenish in color. The wood is moderately lustrous with an interlocked grain and fine texture. This type of wood has been compared to another African species, African Blackwood, but is only half the price! The wood is very sturdy but not as heavy as African Blackwood.
Typical Uses: Billiard cues, flutes, and knife handles
