Guyana Rosewood "Swartzia Leiocalycina"

Guayana Rosewood also known as Wamara. Guyana Rosewood heartwood is dark brown, reddish brown, or nearly black, sharply demarcated from the cream sapwood.  Texture is very fine to medium, luster is usually medium, grain is straight to irregular. Guyana Rosewood has no distinctive odor or taste. The wood can be difficult to work because of its high density, but finishes very smoothly and takes a high polish.
Typical Uses for Guyana Rosewood: inlay, parquet flooring, turnery, furniture, cabinetwork, violin bows and specialty items.
