The golden-brown to dark reddish-brown of the heartwood has regular chocolate-brown zones marking the growth rings. Australian Blackwood is mostly straight grained, but sometimes has interlocked or wavy grain producing beautiful fiddleback figure; medium and even texture and lustrous appearance.

Typical Uses: Australian Blackwood is a highly decorative timber in great demand for quality furniture, ornamental turnery, billiard tables, tool handles and gun stocks.
