Afzelia (Afzelia spp.) Burls

Heartwood is reddish brown after exposure, the sapwood is pale straw to whitish and well defined. Texture is moderate to coarse, the grain is straight to interlocked. Works to a smooth finish.

Typical Uses: Exterior joinery (window frames, doors), flooring, heavy construction including harbor and dock work, furniture, and because of good acid resistance, used for vats and tanks.
